Environmental Law

We advise and assist Indigenous Nations to represent their interests in the complicated provincial and federal regulatory environmental regimes. We also assist our clients in regulating their own lands through their own laws, or advocating for changes to provincial and federal laws.

Our advice and work has included:

• Appearing before regulatory tribunals including the National Energy Board and the Clean Environment Commission;
• Presenting and providing recommendations to Standing Committees and Panels on Federal environmental legislation;
• Preparing and advising Indigenous Nations in drafting environmental laws and regulations under the First Nations Land Management Act;
• Advising clients regarding environmental and natural resources issues including the protection of Indigenous Nations’ territories.
